The Cultural Community Center (C.C.C.) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing students with a safe, focused environment for studying and academic support, while also hosting multicultural workshops that promote cultural awareness, inclusivity, and respectful engagement across diverse backgrounds. I served as a designer supporting the organization's visual communication needs.

Cross Cultural Center
(A.K.A. the C.C.C.)

C.C.C. Mission Statement Postcard

The program director, Chaz Cruz, asked me to redesign the CCC postcard, and I decided to take inspiration from the center’s founding roots and of the fact that it was the center’s 30th anniversary, which was going to be celebrated that year. On the front of the postcard, I used a real photo of the center’s first hunger strike that started the center’s founding., and I came up with the tagline, “Come Together,” to show how the center unites people for social justice. I used the center’s brand colors (before the center’s logo was redesigned). I chose to use Century Gothic as the font for the tagline to match the sans-serif font used in the center’s logo. As for the copy on the back, I copied the previous postcard design’s information since nothing about it changed.

The director liked my use of a purple-blue gradient for the image overlay and my concept that celebrated the center’s roots. However, the only negative criticism I received was that the text wasn’t legible, so to increase legibility and accessibility, I changed the font to a font that was designed for reading.

Final Windbreaker Design

P.E.A.C.E. Logo Design

I made this illustration-text logo on Adobe Illustrator with the idea that P.E.A.C.E. speaks out for peace. I chose red because it is a socially bold color, and the colors were serious. I chose to use a tall sans-serif font to show that we are progressive and serious about what we advocate for.
